A Cause for Tea is a collaborative fundraising effort for New Life Nicaragua, HELP Pregnancy Resource Center, and other non-profit organizations that work to meet the needs of and empower women and children. We are a close-knit team of humanitarians and artists working with local leaders, community members, and non-profit organizations to train and advocate for women and children, develop them for successful and influential integration into their communities with a vision for self-empowerment in order to escape poverty and to bring relief to suffering from malnutrition, lack of shelter, clothing, and education.

Bubble tea, tea houses, Asian bakeries and dessert shops in this group are usually walk-in, counter-order businesses with a menu board overhead listing sweetness and ice levels you can adjust when ordering. Standard bubble tea customization includes sugar level (0-100%), ice level, and a choice of toppings like boba pearls, pudding or jelly, usually at a small extra charge. Asian bakeries sell items individually with tongs and a tray, cafeteria-style, rather than pre-boxed, and pastries are typically less sweet than Western bakery items. Lines build up quickly after school and in the evening, especially near colleges. Most of these businesses accept cards and mobile pay and skew younger in clientele and atmosphere.

Monroe is in North Carolina, in the Southeast, where summers are long, hot and humid, winters are mild, and afternoon thunderstorms and the hurricane season from June to November can change plans at short notice. Getting around Monroe is easiest by car; street parking is metered in busy downtown areas, and most suburban businesses have their own lot. Ride-share apps such as Uber and Lyft operate across North Carolina's larger cities, and public transit varies from extensive to minimal.

Hi! We were quite disappointed with our experience. We checked the cafΓ©βs hours on Google, which indicated that the cafΓ© would be open in the evening. We arrived around 4:05β4:10 PM, only to be told that they were already closing. We were offered the option to get our order to go and sit outside, and we agreed, although it was frustrating that the hours listed on Google were inaccurate. Unfortunately, the experience became even more disappointing when we received our order and tried to sit at one of the tables on the patio. We were told that we could not sit there and were instead directed to sit in the garden area next to the building. We ultimately spent only about 15 minutes at the cafΓ©, despite spending around $60. We completely understand that businesses may have their own hours and policies, but we would have appreciated accurate information about the closing time and a more welcoming experience for guests who had just placed an order. Hopefully, the cafΓ© will consider updating its posted hours and improving communication with customers. We wanted to share this feedback honestly, as the experience unfortunately left us quite disappointed. Thank you!

Amazing experience! My friend recommended me to visit this place year ago but it is kind of far away from the place I am living and I didnβt expect anything special. And I was so wrong. The best tea I ever drank. Good stuff who are happy to assist you and help with your choice. Worth to come and taste a cup of peach & cream tea for sure

What a unique and fun outing today! I loved the incredible variety of things to look at and purchase. Really enjoyed the baked goods, chocolates, scones, brunch items and variety of teas. The house and grounds are so vintage, truly enjoyed my visit!

What an amazing and incredible place to visit! This first experience was completely delightful and delicious. You may not think that the coffee tea would be worth the try but believe me, it was so good!! And the blueberry delight tea with honey was so delicious that I decided to buy a tin to bring home. You have to go and try this amazing establishment for yourself.

Absolutely love A Cause for Tea! I go as often as I can. It is a place where you step back in time, you slow down and you focus on real conversation with the person or people you are with. The staff are the best and the food is always delicious. The scones are probably one of my favorite things and they are giant. This trip my mom and I split the Blissful beef pie, the ambrosia salad, we each got our own scone ( mom the buttermilk and me the banana cream), and we not got the saddle tea, foggy style ( like a tea latte). I took home an order of their hashbrown casserole and a slice of their pound cake and my mom took home a pecan pie bar. Rave reviews doesnβt even begin to describe how much we loved each of these items. I canβt wait to come back with my coworkers!
